When I first saw this Beautiful 58’ Chevrolet pull onto the lot I just had to visit with the fellow behind the wheel. You see Chevy didn’t make an El Camino until 1959. Turns out the driver Charles Nissen thought they should have, so he used a beat up 1958 station wagon, the chrome trim for a 59 El Camino, and a whole lot of automotive magic from Louis Bridges to create this unique show piece. Charles is one of the organizers for the 19th annual Khedive Shrine Car Show in August, but came out to support our Habitat For Humanity benefit. The Shrine’s august get together is one of the finest and largest gatherings of Car enthusiasts in Hampton Roads. It is locked in on my calendar, this year it’ll be Sat. 21st from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. if you’re a gear head like me, just go once and you’ll be back year after year. Got a Classic you want to enter? Get all the info: www.khediveshrine.org  click on the “event flyers” tab, or give Charles a call 340-1331 or cell 573-5898.

What a great place to spend a Sunday afternoon the “Man Cave” in House # 2 at Homearama. Thanks to Sadler Building Corp. and everyone that stopped by it was so much fun chatting with all the Fox listeners. I was amazed by how many folks came through that I knew. The crew from Race World provided the totally cool decorations, like the giant Dale Jr. banner, and the autographed picture of “Smoke” & “Cousin Carl”. The walls were covered with lots of sports memorabilia, and we put their magnetic dartboard to good use as well. The sweetest part was the electric recliners, and wall mounted flat screen TV from our buds at Experience Home Theater. Of course we had the race at Dover on and caught all the action.(I know it’s a tough job but…)The “Man Cave” only took up part of the garage on the other side was the sweetest 67’ 427 Corvette you have ever seen. Speaking of “sweet”, congratulations to Kay Little of Carrolton the winner of that 32” LG hi-def TV from EXP & The Fox. That’s a really nice TV the full 1080 p High Definition, hdmi inputs, just add a Blu-ray player and you’ve got the perfect entertainment system for your bedroom, kitchen, or garage. The trip out to Founders Pointe in Isle of Wight was so relaxing, I haven’t been on that part of Rt.17 for a while and although it has changed some it was still a beautiful Sunday drive. The show continues through this weekend, and Sonja is giving away tickets all week on the “More Music Morning Show”. If you can take a little time to visit I think you’ll find something unique in each of this year’s beautiful homes.
